I moved to Alabama in August of 2021. Are any of my pre-Alabama income or expenses activities subject to Alabama income taxes.

No. You are a part-year resident of each state. Only AL income and deductions are used on your part-year return.

Income you received prior to becoming an Alabama resident would be taxable by Alabama only if it was Alabama-sourced.

Examples of Alabama-sourced income would be income from a job located within Alabama, rental income from a property located in Alabama, etc.
