I purchased turbotax and it includes a state tax filing but its not working

Did you buy the Desktop CD/Download program? It does not include a state efile.

There is a lot of confusion about this. For the Desktop version it's a free download of one state PROGRAM, not returns filed. You can prepare unlimited federal and unlimited state returns. Some people need to file in more than one state so they have to buy another state program. You can print and mail the state for free or each state (including the first one) is 19.99 to efile (goes up to 24.99 in March).

I know it cost's 20 dollars to file but usually this is after it transfers the info to the program and before you actually file it in. For me, it gives me a loop saying I need to download the state when I'v already downloaded it
