Question

I retired to NH last year, we are married filing Jointly federal, however she still lives and works in Maine -how do you separate this in turbo tax

Two questions -

(1)  I retired end of 2020, and received a W2 for work in 2020 (last 2 wks) but it was paid in January 2021. I had moved to NH in Jan 2021

(2) My spouse still lives and works in Maine

So I started Federal return married filing jointly on TT, but now at state part and not sure how to proceed, it wants to place both of us as residents in Maine while only she is (However, I do have that one paycheck from 2020 paid in 2021 in Jan) but was no longer a resident of Maine, so how do you fix this and continue in TT

Thanks

You can file a joint federal return and separate Maine returns if one of you has a different residency status for ME.

How do I prepare a joint federal return and separate state returns?
