I sold my home in Georgia and closed on January 14, 2018. Then moved to North Carolina for the rest of 2018. Do I need to file a Georgia state return?

Yes, you should file a Georgia state return to report the sale.

According to the Georgia Department of Revenue, if you are a legal resident of Georgia for only a portion of the tax year and are required to file a federal income tax return, you are required to file a Georgia Form 500 Individual Income Tax Return.
