Question

I thought taxes taken out of unemployment were suppose to be refunded back to us during our taxes

If you had taxes withheld from your Unemployment, you will get a refund after you complete your annual tax return if your withholdings and credits are more than the tax you owe.  Your tax is based on your total income.
