Question

I was an Idaho resident for 20 days, then moved to Utah for remainder of the year. Per Idaho tax law, I need to file a part-time resident. How do I divide my income?

Do I take 1/12th for Idaho (8.3%) and 11/12ths for Utah (91.7%), or divide 20/365days (5.5%)?

If you lived there for 20 days, you should have pay stubs/contract work for the time there. If you don't know how much you earned there, you will need to determine a reasonable method to allocate it. If you were busy moving, you may not have earned much or you may have worked non-stop finishing a project. Whatever you can determine as reasonable income.
