Question

I was paid from PA and DE in 2018. I bought TurboTax forms for DE but always lived in PA. The DE forms are for residents. What must I file in DE?

As a resident in PA who worked in DE, must I file tax forms in DE?  What do I complete?  Do I get a refund from DE?

You must file a non-resident Delaware tax return in addition to your home state PA tax return.

You'll be able to take a credit on your PA return for taxes paid to DE, so you won't be double-taxed.

In TurboTax, be sure to complete your non-resident state return before you do your home state return, so that the credit flows properly.

The taxpayer worked in DE, not DC.
