I work construction and have to travel and last year i worked in 6 different states. How the heck do I file the 6th state?

I always owe on state taxes bc my employer only takes out federal out of our checks. So I just have to pay for all the states

Since you can only e-file 5 states with your federal return, you would need to print and mail the 5th return if you are using the online version or the 4th through 6th states if you are using the desktop version.

Thank you for replying. So the program will figure out what I owe all 6 states? I file the maximum it will allow and then print off the ones I can’t e-file? Im guessing the ones I print off aren’t actually done I'm just sending them in to be accepted? Or are they done and ready to send out the payment?

You can prepare all six returns in TurboTax. The final state will be completed, you just have to file it by mail. You can send in the payment at the time you mail it.
