Question

I worked for the same company remotely in 2019, but lived in two different states. How do determine what amount I paid to FICA, medicate etc is deductible in which state?

FICA and Medicare are not deductible.  The only thing you have to do is allocate the taxable income.

In the income worksheet, part two.  I'm being asked: "Amount you paid in 2019 to social security

(FICA), railroad, Medicare, U.S., Massachusetts retirement." It wants both MA and Non MA portion.  There is already an amount in the MA section, so it wants to know how much for the other state.

If there's an amount in Massachusetts, the difference from the total would be the other state.  If the FICA and Medicare aren't allocated, do it based on the percentage of days you lived there.
