Question

I worked in a different state than my home, but the temp service was based in my home state. Do I need to file that other state?

If your W-2 shows that you paid tax in the other state, you will need to file a Non-Resident State Return there.

When you file your Resident State Return, you report all your income, and get credit for 'tax paid to another state'.
