IA 1040 Schedule 1 - Federal Tax paid prior year issue

This still appears to be an issue as of today (3/24). The IA program isn't recognizing the Federal estimated tax payments made in 2022 as it relates to line 18 of the IA 1040 Schedule 1.

On my return IA 1040 Schedule 1 is showing Federal taxes paid for the prior year of 4860.00. However, quarterly estimated payments were made in 2022 totaling 4228.00. Final Federal tax due and paid in 2023 was 632.00.

Recap:

2022 Federal tax liability = 8,376

Fed withholding on 1099s = 3,516

Quarterly estimated pmts = 4,228

Paid in '23 for '22 = 632 I feel this is the amount that should carry over to line 18 of the Iowa Sch 1, not 4,860.00

Please advise.

It would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2023" file that is experiencing this issue.

You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions: Go to the black panel on the left side of your program and select Tax Tools.

Then select Tools below Tax Tools.
A window will pop up which says Tools Center.
On this screen, select Share my file with Agent.
You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is. Click okay through this screen and then you will get a Token number.
Reply to this thread with your Token number. This will allow us to open a copy of your return without seeing any personal information.

Here are the instructions if you are using TurboTax CD/Download:

Click on Online in the top left menu of TurboTax CD/Download for Windows
Select 'Send Tax File to Agent'
Write down or send an image of your token number then place in this issue.
We can then review your exact scenario for a solution.
Please also tell us any states included in the return.

We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.

When you send it, please let us know what version of TurboTax you are using.

Federal Tax worksheet for Iowa is not picking up the 2022 estimated tax payments on line E.

Overstating what was paid is 2023 for 2022 at filing.

In TTD enter $4,228 on Row E of the Iowa Federal Tax Wks (in Forms Mode). This will make Line 18 (Federal tax paid for prior years) $632.

In TTO, in the state prep for Iowa, after the Enter your federal tax info screen, you come to the screen Prior Year Federal Tax. From here, you can enter your federal tax for 2022, and on the next screen you can enter your 2022 payments (withholding and estimated payments)
