Question

* If I have miscellaneous income on this years tax return that no longer applies (a one time payment from a settlement in 2023) can I delete it from this years return?

I also have a self employment job that I did not earn any income in last year and stopped that business last year. Can I delete that too?

Yes, you can delete both of those items.

To delete a blank 1099-MISC, refer to the TurboTax article How do I edit or delete a 1099 MISC?

You can delete Schedule C from your self-employment income, but if any 1099s (MISC, NEC, or K) flowed over from last year, delete those first.

Next, delete the Schedule C for self-employment by following the instructions in the TurboTax article How do I view and delete forms in TurboTax Online?
