Question

If I live in Wi, but worked both Wi and Mi under 1 company. Do I file them separately, or under the state I live in?

MI and WI are reciprocal states.  You should have filed MI-W4 with your employer. Then, there is no need to file a MI return. Only the WI return needs to be filed. If you did not file the proper form with your employer:

    1. file a nonresident return with MI for the refund
    2. file the correct paperwork with your employer,  MI-W4
