Question

If I reside in The state of Georgia in 2024 and worked in South Carolina the whole year as well, do I still have to pay state tax in Georgia?

    YES.

You will file a Non-resident state return for South Carolina.

South Carolina will tax you on the income you earned there.

Next you will file a Georgia state return and claim all your income.

Georgia will tax you on all your income HOWEVER it will also give you a credit for the tax you paid to South Carolina so that the income is not double-taxed.

Please do the South Carolina return first, then Georgia, so the software knows how much tax you paid.

Georgia's tax rate is slightly higher than South Carolina's, so you still might incur some Georgia tax on that income.
