Question

If I work in NJ, but live in NY, and only NY shows up in Box 15 but I am seeing State Wage Amounts for both, which of those two do I remove when filing my NJ taxes?

If your W2 shows NY wages and NJ wages that are similar to the federal amount, use the NJ amount for NJ taxes. NJ and NY tax income differently so remove NY income for filing NJ.  Then file for a credit on your NY return for the NJ tax paid.
