Question

If my resident state is Hawaii and I work in Nebraska, why is the amount in Income Earned In Nebraska and Subject to Hawaii Tax not the same as my W-2?

The amount is lower than my W-2.  Do I change the numbers or leave them as is?

If your resident state is Hawaii then all of your income from all sources would be taxable to Hawaii.  Only the amount you earn in Nebraska is  taxable to Nebraska.

When you do the Hawaii taxes, if the numbers aren't matching up and are excluding some income, you will need to make an adjustment to income as you walk through the Hawaii state return where it asks do you need to make any adjustments to income.
