Question

If my spouse moved from hawaii to georgia where I'm stationed and we got married in georgia, is her state of residence Hawaii, Georgia, or my home of residence, Nebraska?

I joined the Navy in Nebraska and now am stationed in Georgia, my wife finished her teaching year in Hawaii before she came to Georgia with me, and we got married in Georgia July 2019

She has a choice.  She can file her state taxes as a resident of her own home state (presumably Hawaii?), or she can choose to file as a resident of your State of Legal Residence, Nebraska.  

 

Neither one of you would file as a resident of GA.
