Illinois return - where do I enter 529 contributions?

I know that the 529 contributions end up on Illinois Sch M.

Do I need to enter the information directly into the schedule, or is there a dialog within the step-by-step method?

Thanks.

Yes, there is a specific place to enter this in step-by-step. Here is how you can enter your Illinois 529 contributions in TurboTax Desktop:

    1. Navigate to the Illinois section of TurboTax (State Taxes > Illinois)
    2. Continue until you arrive at the screen Here's the income that Illinois handles differently.
    3. Under the heading Education, choose Start or Revisit College savings and prepaid tuition plan contributions
    4. Enter the information from the 529 contribution

Here is some more information on deducting 529 contributions: 529 Plans and Taxes: Deductions, Tax-Free Withdrawals & More
