Im a SC resident and am an EMT. 12917: SC - Subsistence Allowance for Police, Fire, and Emergency Personnelwhere can this be claimed on the return

Can I file an amended state return and if so where can I find this deduction/credit in the software?

If you did not claim the subsistence allowance on your SC return, then you can amend the return to claim the subtraction from income.

 

You will find this entry in the SC return on a screen with the title, Here's the income that South Carolina handles differently.  Scroll down to the Public Service section and click Start or Update beside Subsistence Allowance to enter your information.
