Hi All, CA Form 540 Schedule D, Line 6 is blank on Turbo Tax, it didn't transfer from 2023 and ask to enter "capital loss carryover".  Some post mentioned to use the 2023 CA Capital Gain or Loss Adjustment in Schedule D's line #8 and minus $3000, which ended up is the same number as the capital loss of federal return.   But the way some post experts said to calculate using 2023's CA 540 & Schedule D, which ended up to be the same number as Schedule D's Line #8 ($3000 more on capital loss carryover than the Federal return).   Please kindly confirm as I am not sure which is the correct number to put on 2024 tax return.  I need to submit asap before 4/15/25 due date.   Many thanks for everyone's assistance!! 

In the app, there are only options for # of days and percentage. Entering percentage computes an approximate but I have the amount the company allocated. Also, do I need to manually update my California tax income or will TurboTax do this automatically?

what is Florida’s local state tax rate?

I am the spouse of an active duty military memeber. We currently reside in Maine, due to military orders and I work remotely for a company in Maryland.  We are both domiciled in Tennessee. I had taxes taken from both Maryland and Maine this year. I chose non resdient for both Maine and Maryland and Maine refunded my money, but Maryland kept my taxes decucted and also wanted $325 more. How do I file to get that money back, as I am not a resident of Maryland? Thank you!

There are two errors with California Form 5805 AI 1) Line 6 of Form 5805 Part III calculates the annualization of itemized deductions on line 4.  If annualized Federal AGI exceeds a constant value, itemized deductions should be reduced by 6% of that excess.  The worksheet for line 6 is available in CA "2024-5805-instructions.pdf".  I believe TurboTax is using CA AGI in line 8 of that worksheet, rather than Federal AGI. My itemized deductions should be reduced and they are not. 2) Line 10 of Form 5805 Part III is the tax on the amount on Line 9.  In my case, TurboTax is using the value from Part II, Line 2.  This is 90% of the tax due. I have no adjustments and the value on Line 10 is repeated on Lines 12, 14a, and 14c (this is correct).  The value on Line 14c is then multiplied by 90% and appears on Line 16.   This effectively sets my require payment at 81% of the tax due, not  90% of the tax due (this is incorrect). Intuit, P

How do I print my state returns to mail it. I e-filed the Federal already. Before Turbotax gave the option once to filed the federal it used to walk you through to print the State if you checked to mail. Now after filing the federal there is no option to print the state returns please help.

Please someone smarter than me help me. I live in nj but work in philly. On my pay stubs i pay Philadelphia income tax and nj income tax. Significantly more to Philly. On my w2, nj is in box 15. Finally caved to get a live agent that totally didn’t care or know any better than me. Total waste of time and money. Tried telling me i owe nj 1400 dollars. in addition to over 300 to file for both nj and pa. On that fact alone, i think she was trying to scam me. I don’t think i need to file both. Can someone with a brainstem actually help me. And maybe dumb it down for me so i can understand how to just do this myself. Im single with like no assets.
