529 plan credit does not appear as an option under education so how do I enter my contribution to get the credit.

Any Indiana taxpayer who contributes to a CollegeChoice 529 Plan is eligible to receive the tax credit.  Answer yes to the question "Do you have a 529 plan", even though you don't.  That will allow you enter and report your contributions to your granddaughter's plan.

You may not have gone far enough through the Indiana return to find the input area for 529 plan contributions.

Keep going through your Indiana return until you see a screen titled Take a look at Indiana credits and taxes.  Then, go to the Education section on this page and click Start or Update beside the line Indiana College Choice 529 Plan to enter your details.

The 529 section specifically asks:   do you have a 529 plan and I do not but contribute to my granddaughter's plan.
