Is there a TN Tax on 1099-R

    No...TN only taxes dividends and Interest  (Hall tax).

    BUT

    but the 1099-R does need to add into your total yearly income...because, at a certain age, and below a certain total income level....the tax on just the Interest and dividends isn't applied.
