The first thing I noticed when going through the NY screens for other state tax credit is that the amount entered as income being taxed in both states doesn't match he Illinois return. See the screenshot below. The amount in the second column should only be the income that is being taxed by both Illinois and New York. Currently on this screen, the Illinois column matches the New York column. The amount on the Illinois return is less than what's in this column.

It seems that you've allocated all of your income for the year to New York, but you didn't work in New York for the first part of the year and you didn't work for a New York employer. You may want to double check this amount in the income allocation section. You should only be reporting income that you earned while a resident of New York on the New York return. The other state tax credit would apply if the income that you earned while living in New York was also taxable in another state (Illinois, in this case) for that same period.

The second thing I noticed is that the Illinois tax doesn't match the amount that's shown on the Illinois return. You'll need to update this to be your actual Illinois tax.

Lastly, the amount on the next screen should be total the amount on the previous screen. Currently, the amount on this screen is too high. When you update the previous screen to show the actual tax, you'll need to adjust the amounts on this screen to show the updated amount.
