Question

It says my state ID number is wrong but its exactly like it says on my w-2?

A lot depends on how it was entered.

Especially if you used a picture, or imported it, sometimes those mess up.

 

Go back and edit that W-2.

Down in box 15, ther are two parts to it...

1) A state two letter code.

2) A number

 

Delete the number entirely, making it blank....click in another box...then click back in the ID number block and type it in carefully.   That "should " work.

Other:

If you crossed into UT to work during the year, and have a UT state line on that W-2, the final three letters on the UT code number must be a lower case "wth"..
