On my federal return, it shows 20k itemized deductions.

As I completed my state return, there is shows itemized deductions around 13k? I live in a state that has no cap on the itemized deductions. Why is this happening in Turbo Tax?

Yes, under Taxes on the AR3, only real estate tax and personal property tax is deductible. That would be the difference in the two amounts.

It depends. Can you clarify what state you reside in and which itemized deductions you are having a problem with?

Residing in Arkansas. My primary deductions are real estate taxes, state and local taxes, donations.

As I was looking through it again, I did notice that the State and Local taxes are the difference between the total itemized deduction amount on federal vs state. I think that might answer my question
