K-1 beneficiary from trust in California, as a non-resident do I need to file a non-resident return?

I received a CA trust K-1 from which I received no distributions, and I have no income earned in CA. I am not a CA resident. The trust has taxable income but did not file a 1041. Do I need to file a CA non-resident return?

No, if you are not a resident and do not have any income from sources within California you do not have to file a state tax return for California.
