Left Colorado July 2 last year. Planning to return this June. Had no income full year. File as Colorado resident?

I lived in Colorado before I flew out of country on July 2 last year, and I didn't come back till the end of the year. Planning to return this June. I had no income last year (except for the Stimulus check of $1400 in March). Didn't apply for any benefits, including Unemployment. Lived off my savings.

Do I file as a Colorado resident?

Turbotax says ("Personal Info", section 2): "Tell us the state(s) you lived in. State of residence (on December 31, 2021)". Well, I was out of my state and out of the country on Dec, 31 2021. So, I am a little confused here.

Yes, you were a Colorado resident since you did not change your residency to another state.

     What is a Colorado resident?

A Colorado resident is a person who has made a home in Colorado or a person whose intention is to be a Colorado resident. The Department will consider, among other things, Colorado voter registration, Colorado vehicle registration, Colorado driver license, school registration, property ownership and residence of spouse or children in determining intention to be a Colorado resident.
