Live in CT work in RI

The income tax rate is approximately one percent or .75% higher in Connecticut then Rhode Island but they’re telling me I owe nearly 2% of my income to Connecticut when I would’ve gotten a refund in Rhode Island and federally… this is my first time having to file a resident tax return in Connecticut and I feel like I’m missing deductions. I should be inputting. When you work in state and live in Connecticut what deductions are important to include

When you live in one state and work in another state, it is very important to prepare your NON-resident state return first, then prepare the state return for the state you live in.
