Question

Lived in MA, worked in RI and paid RI TDI but am not seeing a credit for TDI tax paid.

Hello.

In 2022 I lived in MA, but worked exclusively in RI for the same employer all year. When I received by W2, I had no entry in Box 14 for RI TDI tax paid (even though my last paystub shows $896 paid for TDI tax).  Box 17, RI W/H also does not include TDI tax paid, only RI State Income tax W/H.  Shouldn't I be able to take this credit on my MA return when I file? Is there somewhere I should be adding the $896 TDI tax paid? I don't want to create an inconsistency between what I enter for taxes W/H by manually adding the $896 in TDI tax since it does not show on my W2. What do I do?

You are correct that MA allows a credit for Rhode Island TDI payments.  I suggest you start by asking your RI employer's payroll department why your TDI payments were not included on your W-2.
