Question

Living in Florida, no state id number for my employer but system says I need it

Several  states do not have a state income tax.  So these states will not show up in certain drop down lists.   Leave boxes 15, 16, and 17 blank when you enter a W-2 for these states.

 

Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming

Since there was no state withholding ( it's Florida after all)

 

Leave boxes 15, 16, 17 entirely blank...no numbers, no letters, no zero's....entirely blank

(Same thing for boxes 18,19,20)

FL does not have personal income tax so leave boxes 15 thru 20 empty.
