Living in NY but work from home and got a W2 from a state my company from CO. why is that and how do i do this?

If you lived in NY and you worked from home, all your income will be taxed by the state of NY.

You should file a Non-resident CO return to receive back all the Income tax withheld for CO and contact your employer to avoid the same error in the future. Make sure you prepare the nonresident returns before your resident state return, to ensure proper calculations.
