Living in PA and MD in same tax year

If I lived in Pennsylvania until March and then moved to Maryland (in 2023), how do I go about completing the "Additional Information Statement"? I know I have to select that I earned income in another state, but do I also have to select my employer withheld income tax for another state? And what do I fill out on the actual statement?

That whole statement depends on where you lived and worked at the time.

  • Pennsylvania and Maryland do have a reciprocity agreement.
  • You will file a Non-Resident/Part year resident for both states
  • This reciprocal agreement means you pay tax where you earned the money and you don't have to pay in the home state if different.
  • You should enter your W-2 state information exactly as it shows on your form.
  • If you worked in the same state the whole time you may only have one state listed.

Please contact us again with where you worked both up to March and after.

Also, any other details we may be able to help with.
