Maine Other State Tax Credit Summary has had a bug FOR YEARS
I live in Maine, but I need to report income taxes paid on my behalf in several other states. I am on the "Other State Tax Credit Summary" page. I click on "Add Another State". It lets me add the state, my income for the state, and the tax paid for the state. The "ME Tax Due" reflects my entry. Then I click "Continue" AND IT THROWS EVERYTHING AWAY AS IF I NEVER ENTERED ANYTHING.
The only way for me to get my credits from other states entered is to go into the Forms view and fill out a state tax credit form for every single state. BUT the fun is not over YET. Because, if I happen to go back to the "Other State Tax Credit Summary", IT THROWS EVERYTHING AWAY AGAIN. I had to file an amended return for my 2018 taxes, because TurboTax screwed this up even after I though I had entered everything.
This bug has been in the Maine State version of TurboTax FOR YEARS. I have this problem EVERY YEAR. I report the problem EVERY YEAR. IT IS STILL NOT FIXED. LAST YEAR I HAD TO AMEND MY STATE RETURN BECAUSE TURBOTAX SCREWED THIS UP. I have used TurboTax for 20 years, but If you do not tell me you have fixed it this year, I am switching to H&R Block next year.
