I moved from Virginia to Maryland in 2023, but worked in Virginia, making no income in Maryland.  Do I still have to file Maryland state taxes?

If you did not have any type of income while you were a resident of Maryland, you do not need to file a Maryland tax return.

bullet number four seems to say that Maryland taxes must be filed even if You make your income in a different state. Do you still think no filing is required?

For tax year 2023, you must file a part-year resident state tax return in both VA and MD.  VA can tax all your income prior to your move to MD, regardless of the income source.  MD can tax all your income after your move to MD, regardless of the income source.

    How do I file a part-year state return? (intuit.com)
