Question

Maryland tax return do not need to file since we live in PA and my husband works in MD. Turbo is saying I need to pay $36.99 for a MD Tax return that I don't need!

PA and MD have reciprocity so why is Turbo Tax trying to charge me $36.99 to file a MD Return I don't need?

Go back and under personal info, mark that you did not work in another state. I believe the instructions say that if you worked in a different state from your residence, and it a reciprocal state, you should answer no.

The only reason you would need to file a MD return is if you wish to receive a refund of any MD taxes withheld from your pay. You would also need to file a MD return if you sold property in MD, or had a business or rental in MD.
