Massachusetts Part-Year Resident - Income Taxed by Another State

I have moved to Massachusetts in March of last year and I worked remotely for a NY employer. Previously I lived in NJ, so I am filing 3 state tax returns. However, Massachusetts seems to be the most complicated of them all. My W2 only shows NY taxes, even after I moved. I am confused as to what does "Income Taxed by Another State" section means and it includes language about "Enter the total 5% Income  Taxed by Other States while you were a part-year resident of Massachusetts" and "Enter the Income Tax Paid on This Income to Other States while you were a part-year resident of Massachusetts". Can someone help and explain what should be entered?

Thank you!

You need to make sure that you are doing all of your non-resident returns first BEFORE you start your resident return.

Start with New York (they tax everything) and go through the New York non-resident return to have them only tax income from New York sources.

Then do the New Jersey part-year resident return and make sure New Jersey knows what income was earned while you were a resident and gives credit for taxes paid to New York on any income that is taxed by both.

Lastly, you'll do your Massachusetts return and make sure that Massachusetts gives you credit for everything that was paid to New York on any income taxed by Massachusetts as well.
