michigan ID on a W-2 form

A W-2 form that I received for election  work by a Township in Michigan asks for the State (MI) and the state ID. How do I find what the state ID number is?

    If there is no state identification number on your W-2 form, you can enter the federal ID number (in Box b) for Box 15.
