I completed the Michigan Tax file. It had an error in Homestead Property Tax Credit. I already paid property tax both summer and winter 2023. I am not seeking a tax credit. I don't qualify my assessment is beyond the limit. TT charged me $1400 during this credit calculation screen. I have a diagnostic copy for your review. OH and why is it that TT is so geared to charging me an additional $400 for this assisatnce? This help sceeen is buried.

I don’t need a Homestead Property Tax Credit. I paid my Homestead Property Tax to the local government. My pension income is low and my paid for house is assessed just above the upper limit. But Turbo Tax demanded I complete the Homestead Property Tax Credit calculation loop. Then TurboTax assessed a tax charge of $1700. I was not able to bypass the credit calculation. I paid the negative balance and was charged $25 for my free state version. Hopefully Michigan Treasury will see the snafu and issue a refund. How do I proceed?
