While trying to send my state, it told me I would owe $25. I know this program I have offers 1 free state because it asked me if I wanted to use it. Now I'm stuck and ca't talk to anyone about what to do.

Using the TurboTax desktop CD/Download editions of Deluxe or higher you receive one free state program download included in the purchase price.

The desktop editions have a $25 state e-file charge and have had an e-file charge for at least the last 20 years. There is not a free state e-file using the desktop editions (except for New York state).

You can avoid this charge by printing and mailing the state tax return.
