Hello Team,

I Filed Federal and Missouri State Tax in April 2019 I owe taxes for Federal as well as Missouri. I can see Federal taxes paid however for Missouri taxes are filed but Payment I owe is not done however i have shared my bank details while filing the income tax return.

Do I have to make a separate online payment for this, I assumed they way it was done for federal same process will be followed for state return.

Also do i have to send mail Form MO - 1040V?

Appreciate your early response.

Thanks and Regards,

Abhijeet Dixit

Not all states support direct debit (at least not through TurboTax), so it depends on what you entered into TurboTax. I do not know how this works in TurboTax for Missouri. Did you tell TurboTax that you wanted to do direct debit for the state, too?

If not, then the system is probably assuming that you are going to pay the tax due another way.

If you are mailing a check to the state, then, yes, you should include the MO-1040V.

However, you can also pay online through this state website.

Note: please reread the instructions that printed out with your return from TurboTax - they likely indicate if you asked to pay by direct debit through TurboTax or by another way (i.e., do the instructions tell you to mail your check to X address with the MO-1040V, which would mean that you probably did not ask for direct debit).
