Moved from AZ to CA. What taxes do I owe?

I moved to CA in 09/18, prior to which I lived and worked in AZ. I am enrolled as a full-time student and earned approximately $1000 after becoming a CA resident. Prior to moving to CA, I earned approximately $30000 working in AZ. Do I need to pay California state income taxes on my entire income, or just the $1000 earned in California?

You will file part-year resident returns for both California and Arizona.  Arizona taxes the 30,000 of income you earned in Arizona, and California taxes the 1,000 earned in California.  However, on the California return, all of your income may be reported.  California will calculate how much tax you would pay on 31,000 of income, and then prorate your tax to the 1,000 of income you actually earned there.

Did you move to California for school?  Is it your intention to return to Arizona after school?

I moved to California for graduate school and I will not be returning to Arizona or moving to any other state.
