moved from one state to another with one month gap between them

Gave up residence in  New Mexico mid May, traveled for one month, then moved into new residence in North Carolina mid June.  I don't know how to calculate this.  Thanks.

    You are considered a NM resident up-until the date you took up residence in NC in mid-June....the month of travel didn't change that.

     

    So part-year tax returns for both NM and NC
