moved to U.S. from abroad

I moved to the U.S. / California mid-year but TurboTax online isn't asking me about date entering California nor using 540NR, and is taxing my income while abroad.  I did not file California taxes in the previous year.

I read elsewhere to choose foreign country as "additional state" in My Info,  but there is no such selection in the dropdown (TurboTax Premium online).  Please advise.

Yes, this should be in the MY INFO section of your federal return. When you begin answering questions about yourself, there are entries to be made informing Turbo Tax that you lived in the additional state. then a drop-down will appear where you would check Foreign or US Possession. This is what this looks like.

Thank you, with your help I found it.  Within "My info", it's under "Your info" of the individual taxpayer(s).

I was incorrectly trying to enter this in "Other state income", which doesn't have an item for Foreign or U.S. Possession.
