I moved from NJ to Colorado April 1, 2023 - I taught in both states -what do I include under Other Wage Adjustments - W-2?  I don't want to get taxed twice.

Here is what is included on my NJ W2 -

Box 12a Code: E

Box 12b Code: C

Box 12b Code: DD

Other: 414h, Sec 125, UI/HC/WD

It depends.  Colorado generally conforms to federal law and permits in the calculation of Colorado tax the same deductions that are allowed in calculating federal tax.

    Colorado (CO) Income Tax Guide

Wages that are exempt from federal wage withholding are generally also exempt from Colorado wage withholding.

    • Types of Payments Considered Wages for CO
      • Most if not all of your payments would not be taxable to CO. This means that the W-2 wages in Box 1 should be prorated for the residency period when you were a CO resident.
