Multi-state filing (MD/TX))

I have my primarily, permanent residence ( home, car registered, pay insurance and license) in Maryland. I worked and rented an apartment in TX for the entire year. What steps should I take to properly e-file since there are no state taxes in Texas?

What you describe means that you're still a MD resident and have to pay MD income tax on your TX income.  You file a MD resident return, the same as always.

Normally, you would also pay income tax to the state your worked in (TX) and take a credit  on your resident state return (MD).  But, since TX does not have an income tax, there will be no credit, to claim.
