Question

My Edward Jones Consolidated 1099 Tax Statement shows a "State Tax Exclusion from Governmental Obligations" of $84.64. Where do I enter this information?

I believe it refers to foreign tax I paid.

This is from income that is taxed on the federal level but not the state. When you enter the interest income, there is a checkbox to indicate that your form has info in more than just box 1.

Mark that box and continue to enter the tax-exempt interest income in box 8.

Then, when the screen appears that  "My state doesn't tax all of this interest" , select My state (ME, MD, MA, NH, NJ, TN, or WV) doesn't tax all of this interest. then there will be a dropdown asking you specifically what type of non-taxable income there is. I assume the $84.64 is an amount that was based off of your taxable interest that was reported in box 1 of the 1099-int form.
