Question

My husband gets paid from his company located in ky but works out of town and doesn’t get paid from working there. How do I remove that state from taxes

Before you delete your Kentucky return, make sure that your husband did not have Kentucky taxes withheld on his W-2.  If his W-2 shows that his income is earned in the State of Kentucky, you will need to file a Kentucky return.

To remove a state from your tax return, follow these instructions in TurboTax:

  1. While in your Tax Home,
  2. Select State from the left side menu,
  3. Select Continue,
  4. Select Delete next to the state you want to remove.
