The unemployment exclusion is the amount up to $10,200 that is excluded from the Federal Return because of the American Rescue Plan Act signed into law in March.  If your unemployment is coming from New York-employment, the unemployment income is taxable in New York.  Any unemployment excluded on the Federal return (the lesser of 10,200 or the total amount of your unemployment), then that deduction is also New York sourced and will be added back.

Since I received all the unemployment compensation(about $2,000) from New York State does that mean then when turbo tax asks me on my nonresident NY State Tax return how much of my unemployment compensation amount of +$2,000 is from a NY source I type the total +$2,000 amount in and when Turbotax asks me how much of my Unemployment compensation exclusion of - $2,000 is from a NY source I type the total - $2,000 amount in.

No. Please type in 0 for the -$2.000 exclusion. New York State does not exclude unemployment compensation from taxation.
