Question

My state does not allow the charitable contributions allowed on the Federal return. How do I remove the amount from my State return? Was Internally rejected with no explanation.

It should have been removed within the program.  Which state are you in? We may need a diagnostic file to see if there is a problem. Don't forget to update your program. There are no investigations or known issues at this time.

Rejection should have an explanation, a highlight, something to help.

Thank you for replying. I had updated my program prior to submitting this query. I also called the 800 phone number. They couldn’t explain why there was no code beside the internal reject or what the reason for the reject. They were suppose to research and call me back but that was two days ago. The tax return is for South Carolina and I have taken snap shots of each oddity I have encountered this year.

Go to your Federal side and take out your charitable contribution, (it shouldn’t change your state return amount) then go to your state taxes and you can re-file for free!!
