My state income tax isn’t showing on the form

It depends whether you are using TurboTax Online or TurboTax CD/Download where to direct you. The state interview must be completed and reviewed first. If this was completed without issue and it is still not populating, it is possible that you do not need to file.

If you want to file for continuity year over year, even though the form is not populating, this can be done by using TurboTax CD/Download, populating the state form and printing it to mail it in.

If you are getting unexpected results, then I recommend always using Chrome. If you are already using Chrome, open the program in Incognito Chrome. Signing out completely and closing the browser window if you are not completing your tax returns in one sitting is a best practice.

Secondly, rather than track down "why" it is often easier to delete the state and re-add it.

To delete and re-add the state: 

• From the left menu select State>
• Continue>next to your state, click the Trash Can icon and follow through the rest of the questions ending with Done
• Click Add Another State>Your state>and go through the interview again.
